In the two pictures above, look at them very closely. One of the main things is if these group of people walked in your store how could you help sell them the product they are looking for with non verbal communication. Well for instance the picture above the text, notice what the guy on the left is doing. If he walked in the store and all you did was talked to him about clothes he probably would be bored and not seem interested but non verbally if you let him walk around for a but and touch certain clothes that he is interested most likely you could help sell him that clothing. Okay take a look at the picture to the left. The sales assistance is helping two customers pick out some snow boots. One thing she is doing to make this sell is by letting them feel the product which is a non verbal way of selling a product but I truly believe the main tool you need to sell a product is by showing the customer that you care. Showing the customer that you care about their needs can keep you not only sell a product but also continue a good relationship with that customers. Touching the products and caring are very important non verbal communication in a retail store. Clarence |

In the picture above, look at each individual closely between the females and the males. The main important thing about this picture is if these people walked in your retail store which one would you help first according to the non verbal communication vibes they are giving off. The lady to the far right seems to be dressed very professional does that mean you would be willing to help her first before you help the lady that dressed casually. By looking at both women that are both giving off non verbal communication signals but one seems interested in needing help and the other one doesn't. Also take a quick look at the guys. The one in the middle seems to be dressed very professional as well but if he walked in at the same time as the guy with that heads phones on who would you help first. By taking a look at both the guys and the girls, they are all giving off non verbal communication but which people are giving off a strong or light vibe of non verbal communication.
Have you notice when going into a store to buy something the store is designed and setup to make everything appealing to you. For instance when watching this 8 min, the managers of the stores will tell you how the store uses non verbal communication to sell products in the store. Ill explain a few of them to give you an idea. In the first min of the video you hear the sales manager tell the employee that the best way to sell a product is by knowing the product. When he says that he isn't talking about describing the product but by knowing how to use it. He displays how to use the guitar to a customer who is interested in buying one for his daughter. Since he knew how to play the guitar well, he used it to his advantage to sell the product. Could you imagine trying to sell a guitar but not knowing how to play it would be a bad sells pitch. Watching the video up to the 3 min segment you notice the sales manager there tells the employee that they display their shoes in different areas of the store in alternate fashion. The reason they do this is to give the customers a little bit of texture and make the displays really interesting to look at. They uses the displays to tell a story to help you decide on 1 or 2 pairs of shoes. Have you went into a store and notice the store was setup in a way to tell you a story or help you buy something, I don't think I would have but the next time you go into a store look how the store is laid out to see if it helps you buy a product. Clarence G.People in the world today, all spend their hard earn money where they want to. We all buy certain clothes from different stores, like malls, Macy's, and Ross just to name a few. We constantly judge the retailers employees by the way they dress, or look. On the other hand, have you ever notice we judge clothing stores by how clean and organized they are? For instance, if you're walking in the mall and looking for a shirt and the first store you saw looked like the picture on the bottom left. Without even speaking to an employee you can tell this store is not organized or clean so you look else where. If you look at the picture to the bottom right, that store seem very clean and easier for you to look for that shirt.
With that being said when your entering a clothing store. By the look, organization, and cleanliness alone, would you be happy to shop in all these stores or would you rather shop in only two of them? |
